M-Cross Ranch isn’t just where we raise high-quality beef—it’s also the home of Hank the Cowdog, the “Head of Ranch Security” and star of the popular children’s book series. The ranch was purchased by John R. Erickson, a fifth generation Texas cattle rancher and the author of the Hank the Cowdog books, and his wife, Kris Erickson in 1990. Many of Hank’s adventures are inspired by life on this very ranch, and the day-to-day experiences still feed John’s creative process in writing what has become one of the longest-running children’s series in the country.

M-Cross Ranch is a working cattle ranch and a special piece of Hank’s story. Mark & Amber Erickson are the younger generation building upon what John & Kris Erickson started.
